VBS 2010 - “Planet Zoom” – STARTS Next Sunday!

Planning and registration for this year’s Vacation Bible School (VBS), is just about complete.  Here are the important things we want you to know!

V = Volunteers - We have many great volunteers, but are still in need of some additional volunteers – even if you can only help a few nights.  Youth are also encouraged to help!  Contact Shonda or Melissa if you’re able to help. 

B = Registration – You can still register your kids (members and non-members) for VBS either online, at www.bs-lc.com, or by completing a paper registration available in the Fellowship Hall.  Early registration helps us to plan. 

S = Sign Up to Donate – PLEASE check the Wish Tree in the Fellowship Hall!  Please take time to see what items are needed, and help be a part of another successful VBS!!

Saturday, July 31^st, 9 a.m. – Decorate Beautiful Savior for VBS

Sunday, August 1^st, 5:30 p.m. – Final preparations

Summer Bible Studies

On Fridays (12:00 p.m.): “One Christ, Many Creeds: A Study of Denominations from a Lutheran Perspective.”  This week we will be studying Pentecostalism / Assembly of God.  The Saturday evening class will meet again on August 7^th after the worship service (including food!).

CAMP OKOBOJI OMELET BRUNCH

You are invited to enjoy a tasty omelet prepared your way by the staff of Camp Okoboji at an Omelet Brunch to be held in the Ginny DeWall Dining Hall at Camp Okoboji, 1531 Edgewood Drive, Wahpeton, on Sunday, August 1^st, 2010, from 9:30 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. (Turn off Highway 86 at the Crescent Beach Sign).  A free will offering will be collected with all proceeds going for designated projects and the Camp’s Annual Fund.

RAGBRAI Prayer Booth  Faith Lutheran Church, 3101 Hamilton Blvd. in Sioux City, IA  will be sponsoring a prayer booth for all bikers as RAGBRAI begins on Sunday, July 25.  If you or a friend are planning on making this great bike trek across Iowa stop at the church parking lot between 5:30-8:00 a.m.  As prayers for blessings on your road trip are offered up to the Lord, we also encourage individual prayer requests.  In case of rain, Faith’s prayer booth will meet in the Sanctuary.  God bless!
